The immune system is designed to protect us from the millions of pathogens in the air, its important to keep the immune system functioning at its best. There are a lot of conflicting advice nowadays on social media, like pills, tablet or certain foods claiming to boost your immunity. Are they all false? No, Most of them yes?


You see the body doesn't work that way, it doesn't rely on one particular thing, there has be a combination of different things and when they all fall in line, only then a system functions properly. So what are the simple ways to boost immunity


Sleep



When we sleep, the brain shrinks its size, the cells inside the brain also shrinks and spinal fluid is released in the vortex, which literally washes away all the built-up toxins from the time we were awake, Which is why when we don't have proper sleep, we feel sluggish or mentally fatigued due to the accumulated toxins still present in our brain. During sleep healing and repair also takes place, your wounds won't heal if you are awake, all recovery takes place when you are asleep, including the cells of the immune system. No amount of healthy foods can compensate for the lack of sleep.


Include Spices in your diet



Spices such as ginger, garlic or sesame seeds, These are fantastic simple foods which are easily available in the market, you can make a drink out of it or add it in your food or in your tea, These kinds of foods are known as an anti-inflammatory and has antioxidant properties in it. This aids your immune system furthermore to keep bacteria and foreign substances out of its system.


Fix your Emotional Health



Our emotional health is one of the most important factors that contribute to our overall health. If you are chronically stressed out, it can create a hormonal imbalance in the body which weakens the immune system, when you are stressed you won't be able to get quality sleep, Some people gain weight when they are stressed, some lose weight, its effect can differ from person to person depending upon their body type and their lifestyle. One of the easiest ways to try to get some stability is to Meditate, if you don't like to meditate, take a walk somewhere out in the nature every day, Spend more time with the people you love, try to be in the present.


Exercise



I know exercise can be a demanding task for some. but staying active is a must for the body, every day when we are sedentary we are taking away what is needed for the immune cells to function properly which is circulation of the blood. The human body isn't designed to be inactive, its made to walk, run, lift weights, and evolve. hence the exercise is a must. Take a walk for 20-30 mins at least if you are not doing anything else. If you don't like going to the gym. you can do home workouts, there are so many amazing home workouts easily available on youtube. When you don't use the muscles, you lose it and when you fewer muscles you have less energy, more fatigue, your metabolism slows down, etc. It's been said that one hour of exercise a week can extend 2 years of life at least.



Wash your hands



Remember when our elders used to say this all the time when we were kids? Simple words but not everyone does it. , By washing your hands before every meal can reduce the chances of any kind of bacteria entering your body through significantly. Therefore give those hands a nice little wash before you dig in your meal. The more we do it the more it implements in our mind and eventually becomes a habit.
